First off, we will be reviewing the ZEON 10-S Electric Winch from Warn. This device is specially designed by Warn to tackle almost anything when it comes to overlanding adventure.

They have improved everything from the motor, gear train, design, and finish to the braking system. In fact, they even worked on the sound of this new generation winch to improve it to a greater extent.

This one is rated to pull up to 10,000 lbs. or 5 tons. The net dimension of the winch is 24.25″ x 7.15″ x 10.52″. However, you also need to know that it can be mounted in a low-profile configuration.

In that regard, the dimension of this Warn 10000 lb winch would be 24.25″ x 7.15″ x 7.84″ and the Warn Zeon 10S weight is 75 lbs. It has a 100 feet synthetic rope (Spydura) with a ⅜ inch diameter.

On top of this, you will find a handheld remote control with a 12 feet long extension cord. These devices come with an aluminum hawse fairlead, 3 safe planetary gear systems with a gear ratio of 162:1, automatic mechanical come braking system, series wound motor and more.

What Previous Buyers Said?

This is a popular winch from Warn like the Warn M8000 and VR8000 Winches. The buyers liked it because of its price to performance ratio.

The majority of the previous buyers of this device have left positive feedback. However, they also pointed out the high price tag of this recovery gear as well.

Additionally, most current owners stated that they have been using this heavy-duty Warn Zeon 10 winch for a long time without any issue.

For instance, a particular buyer commented that he was skeptical before buying this expensive winch. Turns out, he actually likes to use the device and says that the investment was well worth it.

Similarly, almost all the other previous buyers were overly satisfied with its performance.

Pros:

  • It is corrosion resistant
  • Comes with IP68 waterproof certification
  • Heavy-duty yet quiet operation
  • Rugged build quality
  • Fast line speed

The second winch on our list is another front runner from Warn. This has some similarities in terms of features with the previous winch we have just reviewed.

Conversely, you can also see that it has a number of upgraded features that make it one of the best winches in the market at the moment.

This one comes with a pull capacity of 10000 lbs. or 4535 kg. Along with that, it features a 12 Volt DC series wound motor and a 3-stage planetary gear train system.

The gear ratio of this device is 162:1. Warn claims that this new winch is 2X durable compared to previous models. Additionally, this 75 lbs. winch sports a special ‘Spydura’ synthetic rope of 100 feet length and ⅜ inch diameter.

The integrated aluminum hawse fairlead is ruggedly built and will not wear rope easily. The winch comes with a satin black powder coat finish for a longer lifetime and durability.

This Warn 10000 lb winch has an automatic steel sleeve in the drum braking system and has a line speed of about 44 ft. per minute with no load.

But the best feature of this winch is the wireless remote control. This is a new and unique remote control system, to be frank.

The remote control has an LCD screen where you will find information like the clutch status, the temperature of the winch motor, light status, battery level of your vehicle, and additional accessory status, etc.

This remote control itself is IP67 waterproof certified and impact resistant as well. So, you can use it under any conditions without any issues. All in all, it is evident that this one is a top-tier winch from Warn.

What Previous Buyers Said?

All the buyers seem to agree that this winch is way too expensive. Thus, they wanted a top-of-the-line performance from this as well. Interestingly, all the current owners of this winch are thrilled with its performance.

Most of the buyers said even though this is a pricey product, it was definitely worth it to spend that amount of money for this beast of a winch.

They used and liked the advanced yet highly functional wireless remote. And, now, they don’t want to go back to the old wired remote control system.

Overall, from the build quality, design, and ease of use to the performance, everything was praised by its previous buyers.

Pros:

  • Comes with an advanced wireless remote control system
  • Has IP68 Waterproof certification
  • These use Spydura synthetic rope
  • Backed by 1-year electrical warranty and limited lifetime warranty

FAQ about WARN Zeon Series Winches

Where are Warn Zeon winches made?

According to Warn, the Zeon winches are designed, engineered, and assembled in their Clackamas, Oregon (USA) plant. However, some of the parts used in these devices are imported from overseas under strict observation and quality control by Warn.

How to Mount Warn Zeon Winches?

If you have got the right winch according to your vehicle’s specifications, it will be pretty easy to install a Zeon winch. Matter of fact, you can install these devices as any other standard winch.

Plus, you will be provided with an instruction manual with the device. So, you can go back and follow that if you are new to this. Or if you don’t have any prior experience in installing a winch, you might need to get professional assistance.

There are plenty of useful videos online as well, such as this one, that shows how to install it on a Jeep Wrangler.

Is Warn Zeon Winches Worth It?

It depends! First off, there is no doubt that the Zeon winches are some of the best ones in the industry you can get for your money at the moment. However, you can also see that this line of devices is so expensive.

So, if you are on a budget, there are other budget-friendly options out there. Yet, if you need the best performance from your winch regardless of how high the price is, this winch would be the best bet for you.
